Fast Friends

If you've read Matt & Wendy's blog, you know that we've embarked on a new adventure this week. Jamie Sanders has started coming over two mornings a week while Wendy goes in to work.

Kyle's mom, Beth, is helping me out (thank goodness!) while Jamie is here...although I have to say, Jamie was so good yesterday we began to wonder if Beth even needed to be here. I'm sure it won't go so smoothly every day. Emily will be sure to mix it up, I have no doubt! :)

We are very glad that we are able to help the Sanders and know they wouldn't hesitate to do the same for us!

10 Months!!

We're in the double digits now! Here are a few bits and pieces on our "pre-toddler".
As mentioned before, she loves to stand and walk. It's probably her favorite thing to do. She's even begun to cruise a little bit along our coffee table and the window sill!

She's also trying to let go of our hands every once in a while while we're walking with her. Like when she gets excited to touch something, she'll just let go mid-step and usually goes flying forward into a face plant. I freaked out the first time it happened, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. As long as she makes contact with the desired object!
Last week we moved up to size 3 diapers (yes, Horn family, just last week! :P). Our long and lean girl has a skinny behind.
Emily had her first "kid" meal the other day...spaghetti-os!

Well...not exactly, but she loved it.

She's eating lots of finger foods these days. And when I'm spoon-feeding her, she will often take the spoon from me and feed herself. So grown up!
Emily absolutely loves being outside! That's her other favorite thing. And walking while she's outside...that's about as good as it gets.
The top picture was taken just a few days ago while we were out in the front yard. The lighting was just perfect, and she was in a great mood. Here are a few more that I took.

Our "Other" Child

This blog has yet to showcase a certain member of our family who has been with us longer than Miss Emily Claire. Our dear cat, Molly, has adjusted very well to the presence of our newest family member. At first she was very cautious, which gave way to curious, then to protective, and recently to skittish. Who could blame her? She gets a chunk of hair pulled out every time Emily comes near!
But, if Molly had any idea that this blog existed, I'm sure she would take offence. Not a single picture of her on it!
The other day, I caught a squirrel tormenting Molly at our front door. He was parading himself back and forth in front of her - and I'm pretty sure he's sticking his tongue out in one of these pictures. :) She wanted to jump right through that glass!

Lately...

Emily enjoys having her picture taken,

helping Mommy clip coupons,

scaling stone cliffs,

and, jumping off of mountains.


She does NOT like bibs anymore!
They are so last season.
